A personal collection is a body of documents, photographs and other materials that reveal a person not only as a statesman but also as an individual: documents from different periods of life, correspondence, awards and mementos. These materials help to see the history of a personality through the events of their life, family, service and formation.
G. N. Abdykalikova’s personal collection is held in the Archive of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Biography of a statesman
Gulshara Naushayevna Abdykalikova (born 15 May 1965, Kyzylorda Region) is a stateswoman of the Republic of Kazakhstan and holds a Candidate of Sciences degree in Economics. She graduated from the Dzhambul Technological Institute of Light and Food Industry with a qualification in economics.
Gulshara Naushayevna Abdykalikova’s personal collection has historical, sociopolitical and applied scholarly value. It may include documents reflecting her governmental, public and international activities: official documents, official correspondence, speeches, reports, analytical materials, photographs, publications, award documents, materials concerning international meetings and other documents illustrating the life and professional activities of the collection’s creator.
She began her career in 1987 in the social protection authorities of Kyzylorda Region. Over the years she held senior positions in the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Kazakhstan, serving as Deputy Minister and Minister, Adviser to the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Deputy Prime Minister, State Secretary, a member of the Mazhilis of Parliament and Akim of Kyzylorda Region — the first woman in independent Kazakhstan’s history to be appointed a regional akim.
The documents in the personal collection are a valuable source for studying the history of public administration, social policy and sociopolitical development in the Republic of Kazakhstan from the late twentieth century through the first quarter of the twenty-first century.
